CLOW

The church in her wisdom has given us several documents and writings to help us understand and celebrate the mass.  On October 22, 1973 Pope Paul VI approved and confirmed the DIRECTORY FOR MASSES WITH CHILDREN, which was written by the Congregation for Divine Worship.  When this directory was prepared it was "concerned with the children who have not yet entered the period of preadolescence". (#6 Introduction) (Preadolescence is defined as the ages between 10-13).  This directory is used for the guidelines for liturgy of the word for children along with full masses.  Here at Blessed Teresa we implement these guidelines at CLOW (Children's Liturgy of the Word).  We invite all children ages 4-10 to celebrate the Word with us.  If you would like to help in this ministry or have any questions feel free to contact Lynn in the Parish Office.

Because children are not able to understand some of the complex words or thoughts that are read or expressed during the Liturgy of the Word in the larger assembly, they sometimes participate in this part of the mass separately.  This separate participation is called Children's Liturgy of the Word.
